Whether it's picking a raffle winner, deciding who goes first, drawing a lottery number, or just settling an argument about where to eat, this tool draws instantly or, if you want a bit of ceremony, spins an animated wheel with sound and lands on a winner in front of everyone watching.

Number mode vs. list mode

Number mode draws one or more whole numbers from a range you set — useful for lottery numbers, dice rolls, or picking a raffle ticket out of a numbered range. List mode instead takes whatever you paste in, one entry per line, and treats each line as an equally likely pick — names for a raffle, tasks to assign, restaurants to choose between. Enter a name more than once if you want it to have better odds; the tool treats duplicate lines as separate entries.

Using the spinning wheel

Turning on "Spin an animated wheel" replaces the instant result with a wheel built from your current number range or list, split into equal slices. Clicking spin sends it turning for a few seconds with a ticking sound that speeds up and slows down realistically, before landing on the winning slice with a short chime — good for doing a draw live in front of a group rather than just revealing a number. The wheel supports up to 30 slices at a time; with a bigger range or list, narrow it down or turn the wheel off and use instant picking instead.

💡 Tip: Sound only plays after you click Spin, since browsers block audio from starting on its own — if you don't hear anything, check the "Sound effects" checkbox is on and your device isn't muted.

Repeats, elimination draws, and resetting

By default every pick is independent, so the same number or name can come up again later — right for dice rolls or a decision wheel you'll spin many times. Turn on "No repeats" to remove each winner from the pool once picked instead, which turns the tool into an elimination draw: keep picking or spinning and the pool shrinks until everyone or everything has had a turn. "Reset pool" brings back everything that's been removed without touching your number range or list.

Is it actually fair?

Every slice or number has exactly the same probability of being chosen, and the wheel's landing position is decided before the spinning animation even starts — the spin itself is just a visual reveal, not a separate chance event layered on top. Nothing about the outcome depends on when you click, how long the animation runs, or which slice looks bigger on screen; equal-sized slices simply make the equal odds visible.

Frequently asked questions

Is my list of names uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything — parsing your list, drawing the random pick, animating the wheel, and playing the sound — happens locally in your browser. Nothing you type here is sent to a server, and refreshing the page clears it completely.

How many names or numbers can I use?

Instant picking (wheel off) handles very large lists or ranges without any practical limit. The animated wheel is capped at 30 slices for readability — with more entries than that, either narrow your list or pick a smaller batch at a time.

Can I make one name more likely to be picked?

Yes — add it to the list more than once. Each line is treated as a separate, equally weighted entry, so a name entered three times is three times as likely to be drawn as one entered once.

Why is there no sound when I click Spin?

Make sure the "Sound effects" checkbox is on — it only appears once the wheel is enabled. Browsers also require a click before they'll allow audio to play at all, which is why sound starts exactly on the Spin click rather than as soon as the page loads.

Does "Reset pool" clear my list or number range too?

No — it only restores entries that "No repeats" had removed after being picked. Your number range and list stay exactly as you typed them until you change them yourself.
