Terms of Use

The service

TheHandyKit (thehandykit.com) provides free browser-based tools — image and PDF converters, generators, developer utilities and calculators — and an optional paid subscription, TheHandyKit Pro. The service is operated by WhoOwn.it. Files you process with our tools are handled on your own device and are not uploaded to us; see the Privacy Policy for exactly what data is and isn't involved.

Acceptable use

You may use the tools for personal and commercial purposes. You agree not to:

• use the site to break the law or to process material you have no right to process;
• attempt to disrupt, overload or probe the site or its billing and account systems, or bypass the Pro paywall or usage limits;
• scrape the site at a rate that affects other visitors, or copy the guides and site text to republish as your own;
• use the tools to create documents, photos or signatures intended to deceive or defraud (for example, altering an official identity photo in a way the issuing authority forbids).

No warranty; check important results

The tools are provided "as is" and "as available". We work to keep them accurate, but we do not guarantee that results are error-free or suitable for a particular purpose. Calculators (for example VAT, tips, take-home pay, BMI and salary tools) give estimates based on the values you enter and general rules; they are not financial, tax, legal or medical advice. Photo, passport and form requirements change, and different authorities apply their own rules — always confirm the requirements of the organisation you are submitting to. Because the tools run in your browser, keep a copy of your original files; we cannot recover a file you overwrite or lose.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, WhoOwn.it is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of data, or loss of profit arising from your use of the site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory consumer rights where they apply.

TheHandyKit Pro

• Pro is a recurring subscription (monthly or yearly), billed by our payment processor, Stripe. Prices are shown on the Pro page before you pay.
• Your subscription renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the "Manage subscription" link on the Pro page, which opens Stripe's billing portal. Cancelling stops future renewals.
• Pro is tied to your email address. If you lose access on a device, use the "Restore" option on the Pro page.
• For billing questions or refund requests, contact support@thehandykit.com. We look at each request on its merits, and nothing here limits any refund or cancellation right you have under the law where you live.
• We may change Pro's features or price; any price change for an existing subscriber will be announced before it takes effect.

Advertising and third parties

The free version of the site is supported by advertising, including Google AdSense. Ads and their content are provided by third parties, and we are not responsible for the websites or products they promote. The site also loads open-source libraries from a public content delivery network and links to other websites, including our sister site YieldAnalyst; we do not control those sites and their own terms and policies apply.

Content and intellectual property

The site's design, code and written content (including the guides) belong to WhoOwn.it. You keep all rights to your own files — we never receive them, so we claim nothing in them. Third-party libraries used by the tools remain under their own open-source licences.

Changes, availability and termination

We may update these terms, add or remove tools, or suspend the service for maintenance. When the terms change in a meaningful way we will update the date at the top of this page; continuing to use the site after that means you accept the updated terms. We may restrict access for anyone who breaks these terms.
